Thread: Air Bag Recall

    Default Air Bag Recall

I just got a recall notice for my 2003 320i for the passenger air bag. I states that certain 2000 - 2006 3 series cars are affected. If you didn't get a recall notice, maybe your 3 series is not involved, or BMW Canada can't find you. As the saying goes, contact your nearest BMW retailer, it is a free, 1 hour job.

I'll take care of it when my car comes out of storage in spring.

Winter beater? Newer honda models seem so unappealing compared to past. Honda used to be the japanese bmw, now their lineup looks like a 2nd place korean contender. Shopping for winter beater myself... having hard time finding something nice, sporty..... without a sunroof! Whats with canadians and fucking sunroofs

The sunroof is a way to provide the dealer (and manufacturer) to drain more hard-earned money from the customer. Loss of headroom, loss of structural integrity, increased chances of leaking and early rust, and increased cost. I don't know, I guess some people are masochistic

If you want to feel like a leper, go into your local BMW dealer and tell them you want a RWD car with a manual transmission and no sunroof.

You will be promptly escorted out the back door ...

Yes! It has no sunroof as well, like my E46. It will start in the winter and that's what counts.

Henry considering most people lease cars these days I doubt they care about the extra 3$ for a sunroof over 72 months... or rust.

...and now, we just got the recall notice for the DRIVER'S SIDE airbag. There is a catch - they don't have any available. We'll get a second letter telling us when they'll be available. Cars involved; 2002-6 3 series, 2002-3 5 series, and 2003-4 X5.
