There is someone on Ebay offering this chip. The auction ends in 7 hours. Here is the link:

thanks, will check ebay when ready to buy it new !
I think the Herroux brothers in Chambly have a *cough* "copy" *cough* of this chip available.

If you going to save a few $ with a er..... clone chip, make sure that it is a newer revision. Some of the earlier software versions were not so good.

Regarding revisions, this applies also to buying a used chip on Ebay (or wherever).
Incidently, take caution in purchasing used "branded" ECU chips. Many of them are sold as genuine, but these Eproms can be easily copied and their sitcker labels likewise easily duplicated. To play safe, if purchasing a used branded chip, make sure the original instruction sheet comes with the deal.
For the record, I really don't condone this sort of thing. When I needed a chip for my M42-engined 1991 E30 318is, I paid full price for a Jim Conforti chip through Turner Motorsports even though I knew the Herroux brothers had a "similar" Eprom available for maybe a third of the price.
