Unless you have the real factory Xenon HID lights (with ballast), any other bulb with the bluish tint and marketed as HID are just pretenders. With few exceptions (such as the PIAA or Silverstar, etc), these bulbs should be avoided. They look cool and that's about as far as they go. The blue tint that they place on the bulb surface does nothing other than to filter out the yellow color (and others), giving you an impression that you are getting a brighter bulb when in fact it's actually cutting down the light output (kind of like wearing shades at night).

The Sylvania (Osram) Silverstar is a goold quality replacement. It's is less yellow than the regular halogens and are significantly brighter than the stock bulbs running at the same wattage. THey are avauilable at Canadian Tire for About $25.00 - $30.00 each

I'm afraid to try them , mine have that bluish tint when they are lit up ( they are purple in color when not lit) most of the ones I tried were light blue when not lit . Anymore thoughts?

Might try the ones you said though , thanks

The purple ones are even worse (than the blue ones) as they filter out even more light in order to get that high color temperature "white beam". In order to make up for that defficiency, most of these colored bulbs come as 80/100 watt instead of the normal 55/60 watts of regular yellow halogen bulbs, and even at that higher wattage, they are inferior in total light output.

Worse still, many cars' electrical system are not designed to run anything higher tna 60 watts without having to beef up the wiring harness/relays/connectors.

Weird though , they say 12v 55watts on the purple ones and man are they bright . I'll try out the ones you sugested. Thanks bro ;-)

go to your local dealership and buy OEM light bulbs, that would be your best bet

If you must go with OEM (for bulbs, relays, etc), you can probably find the same stuff at Autolectra at cheaper prices than the dealer. As far as I know, they carry Bosch, Hella, Osram........
