BMW Fest Est: Oktoberfest in July and more

Quelques amis a moi, propriétaire de Miata ont hate de voir apparaître la règlementation concernant les véhicules décapotable et ce pour les différents evenement de l'année. Ils attendent avant de s'inscrire.
De plus y aura-t-il qu'un seul type d,inscription soit le bloc de trois jours à 600$ ou ...?

Pour BMW Fest Est, le prix tentatif de $600 est pour 3 jours, et il semblerait que ce serait $450 pour deux jours. Soit moins cher encore que NER.

Je ne connais pas tous les détail car il y a 4 chapitres concernés et plus il ya de monde, plus c'est long de décider.

Ah oui. Notre chapitre n'a pas encore clarifié sa position car certains directeurs n'ont pas encore exprimé leur décision. Je te conseille de mettre de la pression. Cependant, là où ça risque de frotter, c'est que comme BMW Fest Est est un événement rassemblant quatre chapitres, il faut que les quatres soient d'accord. Et, entre et moi, je n'ai jamais vu les quatre chapitres à l'unisson.

J'ai posé la question sur les décapotables à BMW Fest Est la semaine dernière, et la réponse était vague: il n'y a pas de point de vue officiel au plan national. Ensuite j'ai posé la mîeme question à nos directeurs, et seuls Chérif et moi-même avons officiellement pris position.

Groupe #1: décapotables sans protection. Pas admises.
Groupe #2: décapotables avec "factory roll-hoops". Pas admises.
Groupe #3: décapotables avec rollbar incluant une diagonale + harnais 5 points. Admises.

Nos positions réflètent les règlements de BMWCCA d'ailleurs. Il suffit d'un incident et on risque de fermer le club si on est poursuivi. On attend encore les points de vue des autres directeurs. Le-tien compte aussi, il suffit de l'exprimer sur notre liste de distribution des "club execs".

Hard Dog est okay. Mais ça prend des harnais 5 ou 6 points. Sinon le pilote risque de balloter et d'être éjecté. Les 4 points ne sont pas acceptées car jugés hyper dangereux.

2 sets de harnais G-Force avec camlock c'est $220usd et valables 5 ans car aux normes FIA.

Based on a long tel chat I had with Lee 6 months ago I did many changes on my Miata based on Lee's comments.

Changed my roll bar for a HARD DOG Hard Core Double Diag. Harness tab ready.
One piece Bucket seats ( L & R )
Willwood Big brake kit using Performance Friction PF97 pads
JIC Magic complete coilovers 12k/9kg
Racing beat front tubular sway bar.
GForce 5pts FIA harness both side.
OMP Formula Full Face Helmet
Hard Top ( I will use it if needed )
Complete built engine
Eaton BRPM62 Blower
And too much other things to list here.......

Lee if there is anything else needed as far as safety I would love to know... because I want to make some events this year and I want my car to meet what it needs @ the fist place and not be pushed back because this and that........

Everything seems to be fine. You have the rollbar and 5 point harnesses on each side as well as equal seating. It seems that you have a hell of a car. It must be fun to drive. What kind of spring rate do you run? BTW Last Fall I had the chance to have a student with a Turbo Miata, and that thing had so much pull.

Lee if there is anything else needed as far as safety I would love to know... because I want to make some events this year and I want my car to meet what it needs @ the fist place and not be pushed back because this and that........It sounds like you've got all the bases covered. The most important thing is to have proper roll protection, two equal seats, and two equal sets of restraints. You should be good to go.

Yes Lee, the two seats and harness are the same, so the co-driver is as much protected as the driver.

The spring rate I am using is 12 kg front and 9 kg rear
1.25'' front sway bar and NO rear sway bar...

The car is neutral whithout the rear bar whit just a bit of oversteer.... I have to admit it is a blast to drive..........;)

I whish we will have some track time together... mine is not bad as far as power..... acutally my new setup is 300RWHP and 246lbs of torque. That is powerfull enough for a little hair dresser car ;)

12 kg/mm = 672 lbs/inch
9 kg/mm = 504 lbs/inch

D'ailleurs voici une photo qui montre pourquoi une décapotable devrait avoir une rollbar. On voit très bien que le pare-brise ne sert pas à protéger le pilote.
