Okay.

David?

Anyone know of a good place to get a helmet? I was thinking about replacing my mine.

Nano,

You should try out the gloves (if possible) before ordering. Make sure they feel right (and well constructed) before plunking down your hard-earned cash. Some of the gloves out there are not so good, regardless of brand or price.

Andre,

Racerpartswholesale.com has good prices but beware. Six years ago, I purchased a Bell M2 from them mail order. They sent me a demo unit that had numerous little scratches all over (and they tried to pass off as new). I succeeeded in getting a brand new replacement, but after having had to pay shipping twice and then problems with brokerage fees with UPS the 2nd time around, I actually ended up paying significantly more than if I had purchased it locally.

Andre,

I purchased my newer Bell helmet last year from CSC. Reasonable prices (for a Canadian outfit) and very good service.

Thanks for the info guys, CSC I know about, I take it that locally it's the usual places (TRAC RMR etc). Helmets I tend to like to try on. I guess it can wait until I make a trip up to Toronto. Mosport is definitely on my list of tracks to drive this year.

If you have a chance to drive down to the Boston area, you might want to check out HMS Motorsport. I was there last month and they had a HUGE selection of Snell SA2005 rated helmets. Everything from G-Force and Pyrotect on the low end to Bell, Simpson, and Bieffe in the midrange to Sparco and Arai on the high end. Best of all, they had many different sizes for each model. After trying on dozens of them, I found the medium Pyrotect fit mey head perfectly.

It really pays to try them on for size. The problem with RMR and Trac is that they have a miniscule selection and try to push whatever little stock they carry (especially trye at Trac). On top of that, they cahrge top dollar.
