It's interesting to look the pictures in our picture gallery but a suppose sommeone have videos (from us at Tremlant, Mecaglisse, etc ) to share. I don't know if it's possible to put video on this site, but if its not possible, how know a place ( free) to put them and after all give the link on this web site. IT couldbe great to loke some videos until the new season of activity begining
We are working on that for the new website. The only problem is the cost of bandwidth.
Yeah, I wish someone had a camera when I went to St-Eustache in the white civic behind me :p
If only I knew some cameraman, I'd ask them to follow me at the events..
At the first 2005 event I tried to get some videos but it's too hard to manage photos+videos at the same time
that's an awesome idea
the video could also be a great way to promote the club and DE activities.
Key elements are...
a) good + knowledgeable + entertaining host
b) good camera + good cameraman + good video editor
c) a BMW

c) a BMWIn fairness, we should show other cars in addition to BMW's. That would more accurately represent the mix of vehicles owned and tracked by Club members. We wouldn't want people to think we're wine and cheese eating BMW snobs!

Bravo!

I always had a dream of making a cool video about our stuff.
It would be a sort of short "week in the life of a track junkie". Quick shots of the car being inspected, packing to go, highway overpass drive-bys. Then shots of sunrise and empty morning roads on the way to the track. The registration and inspection line-ups. The morning speach by the chief instructor. Then the track action, of course. So stuff from advanced/instructor groups and in-car footage from the beginner groups, too. With the instructor and student visible so that the whole driving school thing is displayed. Quick interviews and people making goofy faces to the camera in the paddock. At the end of the day the packing of everything back into the car and the slow drive home with the credits rolling.
This will require filming at a few events.
The video will have to be 10-12 minutes long. No more as people would lose interest quickly. The cuts would be relatively quick and they should not linger much.
We could also have the "director's cut" made that would run for 30 minutes. With director commentary track and the works. Available on DVD only.
Now I just need to learn how to use video editing software, how to shoot video well, and have a ton of time and people willing to help me.

Hey I have an idea for the video!
Karin, would you be OK with wearing high heels and getting stuck in mud or snow? (http://www.carstuckgirls.com/)
You might have to pump the gas and brake pedals too :D

Long revving part. My favorite.

Yeah, mecaglisse soft sand is just as good as mud...
I am an expert, I took EXTREMELY close looks last time we went :)
Now that we found our model, we can start a new website. It will be called Mazda_stuck_girl.com and could look like the following link. I suggest using clear plastic high heel shoes too.

Where do you want me to stick my Mazda? And watch out how you reply! :D
After a few intense thoughts, the "adult" content of our didactic club video could be easily/innocently integrated. In the middle of that clip, during a session at Mécaglisse, the model could oversteer at the exit of a corner (1st exemple of what not to do) and get stuck in the sand. We can insert a few shots of a foot pumping the gaz pedal, over and over (second demonstration of what not to do - includes slow motion and extreme zoom in). There will obviously be a continuity problem as the model starts the session with driving shoes/jeans and sweat shirt and ends up with crystal clear high heelers and lamé tight long dress, but hey, no one will complain, I am sure. Perhaps it could end in some mud fight with another female flagger. :p Having all that controversial content will assure us a very wide diffusion and we will be sure not to be copied by BMWCC...
BTW As was mentionned, we can even hire Emre as a consultant, as he has "in-depth" experience of getting stuck in the sand. As well as Nano for the "get rid of the pebbles stuck in the wheels" segment.

I did spin in a borrowed car with winter tires in the rain, but I managed to keep the four wheels on the black stuff. After the stint, I told Booboo "Do what I say, not what I do". BTW It was my first spin in years.
I once did a pendulum (2 slides on each side) between corner 10 and 11 at Tremblant. That was in the rain during a race. I also did a 45 degree drift between corner 11 and bridge turn with Phil and still managed to recover. That drift was immediately followed by another 45 degree drift right after the bridge and still recovered easily. In both cases, the problem came from rain that pulled mud and made the track very greasy. The slides happened during my instructor training. Phil then said "I liked how you did your "thing" to recover the car"...
I still managed to put four wheel off during another race just before the esses. I had passed a Porsche going down corner two, in the inside, but should not have watched him TWICE in the mirror. In those days, as was not enough a good driver to attempt such a maneuver. After the race, the Porsche driver told me he saw my eyes twice in the mirrors. That was one time too many.
Anyway, if we drive hard, then sometimes shit happens. It is okay, as long as we understand why it happened.

Does anyone really want to see Emre and Nano in clear plastic high heels and tight lamé dresses? No offense guys, but... :o
What I love about this club is that experiences like these are extremely well taken and used for educational purposes!
Well. The consultants are usually the persons who tell the comedian and film director what to do and how to do it. So, they are not te ones to be filmed wearing a lamé dress and high heels... Perhaps we should put up a vote to decide who will be wearing those...
