my 1999 e46 323i is being a bad car, every time i try to use the remote to lock the doors it either locks and unlocks them or locks them, when i try to unlock them it now unlocks the doors and opens ALL THE WINDOWS.

The windows used to open up once a while in the summer didnt bother me much, but its winter now and it doesnt want to stop, i tried pairing the key fob it seems to pair successfully but when it does the lock down of the car the windows go down again...

Help/Advice?

No idea what it might be but I bet someone on http://forum.e46fanatics.com/index.php has had the problem in the past.

Worth a search.

Did your key was exposed to water or snow? Maybe there is some water/humidity inside that is shorting the contacts. The opening of the windows is a function of the key.
Do you still have the 2nd remote key?

maybe some wire are cut in your door and they share the same current then when you unlock the door it opens your windows by the voltage of the locking unit...
