Teen Ice Driving Clinic
and
Winter Driving School

Audi Club Canada East members and friends are invited to the first Teen Ice Driving Clinic sponsored by SHELL and fourth annual Audi Winter Driving School in Eastern Canada. The Teen Clinic will be held on Saturday, February 7, and the Driving School will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009.
Participants must have a car to drive which is in good running condition and fitted with snow tires. The car need not be an Audi. Trucks and SUV's are acceptable as well. Participants must have a valid drivers license. All participants (and those accompanying them) should be warmly dressed, with good boots, a warm hat and gloves or mitts. All participants must arrive at the Mecaglisse Chalet at 8:30 AM for final registration. The event will run until 4:30 PM, with an hour off for lunch. The cost for each participant, including a 3 course hot lunch is $90.00 CAN. Additional hot lunches are $25.00 each and must be ordered at least 3 days prior to the event. There is no restaurant on site.
Back seat passengers are welcome but ''back seat drivers'' are not allowed. Teens, invite your parents to ride with you. Passengers pay $15.00 for the opportunity to ride for the day.

This year, the Audi Club Canada East Chapter will put on its annual winter driving school in a one day format. Many participants will be able to attend without the need for an overnight stay. After a short classroom session to review safety rules and ice driving theory, participants will be divided into three groups, meet their instructors and immediately tackle the three on-track exercises.
Participants must have a car which is in good condition and fitted with snow tires. The car need not be an Audi. Trucks and SUV's are acceptable as well. Participants must have a valid driver's license. All participants (and those accompanying them) should be warmly dressed, with good boots, a warm hat and gloves or mitts. The instructor driving day on Friday is the time for instructors to get re-acquainted with the various driving areas and tracks that will be used during the clinic and driving school on Saturday and Sunday. It should be considered a required day for any instructor who has not instructed at an event at this facility before. Mecaglisse is the premier ice driving facility in North America.
The instructor day will be run as an open track day, with instructors cycling through the various tracks and driving areas throughout the day. Instructors will have virtually unlimited track time.

The registration fee for the instructor day is $150.00 CAN. Lunch is not included in the registration fee. We will convoy to a nearby restaurant at noon.

The facility will be open at 8:30 AM on Friday and instructors can arrive, complete their registration and head to the driving areas at any time after this. The facility will shut down at 4:30 PM.

Clinique sur Glace pour Jeunes Conducteurs

Ecole de Conduite sur Glace

Les membres du Audi Club Canada Est et leurs amis sont invités à la première Clinique de Conduite sur Glace pour jeunes conducteurs commandité par SHELL et à la quatrième Ecole annuelle Audi de Conduite sur Glace dans l'est du Canada. La clinique a lieu samedi le 6 février et l'école de conduite dimanche le 7 février 2009. </SPAN>

Plusieurs instructeurs certifiés par le club Audi guideront les participants sur les parcours spécialement préparés au complexe Mécaglisse à Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci, à quelques kilomètres au sud de St-Donat, Québec. Le complexe Mécaglisse est l'endroit par excellence pour la conduite sur glace en Amérique du Nord. Un repas chaud 3 services sera servi aux participants au Chalet du complexe, devant le feu de foyer.

Pour participer, les jeunes conducteurs devront avoir une auto en bonne condition chaussée de pneus à neige. Il n'est pas obligatoire de participer en Audi. Même les camionnettes et VUS sont admissibles. Les participants devront avoir un permis de conduite en règle. Les participants et les accompagnateurs devront s'habiller chaudement et porter des bonnes bottes d'hiver, un chapeau et des gants ou mitaines. Les participants devront arriver au chalet du complexe Mécaglisse à 8 :30 pour compléter l'inscription finale. La clinique terminera à 16 :30, avec une sieste d'une heure pour le repas du midi. Les frais d'inscription pour chaque participant, incluant le repas chaud à 3 services du midi sont de $75.00. Le coût par repas additionnel du midi est de $25.00. Les repas devront être commandés au moins 3 jours avant l'évènement. Il n'y a pas de restaurant sur le site du complexe.

Jusqu'à deux passagers (silencieux) peuvent prendre place sur le siège arrière d'une auto à quatre places avec ceintures de sécurité. Le coût par passager est de $15.00. Alors, les jeunes, invitez vos parents!

Ecole de Conduite sur Glace

Cette année l'école annuelle Audi de conduite sur glace aura lieu le dimanche, 8 février. Ce format d'une journée permettra à plusieurs participants de participer sans besoin d'hébergement.

Les participants devront se présenter avec une auto en bon état chaussée de pneus à neige. Les voitures autres qu'Audi sont acceptées . Même les camionnettes et VUS sont bienvenus. Les participants devront avoir un permis de conduire valide. Tous les participants (et leurs invités) devront être habillés chaudement avec de bonnes bottes, un bon chapeau et des gants ou mitaines. Les participants devront se présenter au chalet du complexe Mécaglisse à 8 :30 pour compléter l'inscription. L'école se prolongera jusqu'à 16 :30, avec une heure allouée au repas du midi. Le coût de participation est de $200.00 CAN, incluant le repas du midi. Des repas additionnels pourront être commandés au coût de $25.00 par repas. Les repas additionnels devront être commandés au moins 4 jours avant l'évènement. Il n'y a pas de restaurant au complexe Mécaglisse.

Journée des instructeurs - le vendredi 6 février

Tous les instructeurs sont invités à s'inscrire pour la journée des instructeurs le vendredi 6 février avant la clinique de conduite sur glace pour les jeunes samedi, le 7 février, et l'école de conduite sur glace dimanche, le 8 février.

La journée des instructeurs permet aux instructeurs de re-découvrir les circuits sur glace du complexe Mécaglisse qui seront utilisés pour la clinique des jeunes et l'école de conduite sur glace. Les instructeurs qui n'ont pas participé à une école de conduite sur glace au complexe Mécaglisse se doivent de participer à la journée des instructeurs pour se familiariser avec les parcours sur glace du complexe. Noubliez pas que le complexe Mécaglisse est le site par excellence en Amérique du nord pour la conduite sur glace.

Les instructeurs auront accès à toutes les aires de conduite en tout temps durant la journée. Ils auront un temps illimité de piste.

Le coût d'inscription pour les instructeurs est de $150.00. Le repas du midi n'est pas compris. Nous nous dirigerons vers un restaurant local à l'heure du midi.

Le complexe sera ouvert à 8 :30 vendredi et les instructeurs pourront arriver, compléter leur inscription et se diriger vers les parcours de leur choix dès cette heure. Les circuits seront fermés à 16 :30.
