OK. I know that all Canadians are maintaining radio silence on F1 since "the event" which is not to be mentioned without spitting on the ground and gnashing the teeth, which I can't do on the internet, so I won't mention it.

I didn't see the race, only the blow by blow commentary.
Here is the commentary filtered through me.

I watched on "commentary".

if Massa wins the race, Hamilton needs to be 5th to win the championship.

With 10 laps to go

Massa Leading!
Alonso 2
Raikkonnen 3
Hamillton 4
Vettel 5
Glock 6.

Hamilton will Win!!!

But wait, with 8 laps to go it's starting to RAIN!!! What will happen???

Backmarkers pit for rain tires. Leaders aren't pitting. If they guess wrong, it's all over.

Raikkonen pits
Alonso pits
Hamilton pits
Vettel pits
Massa pits
Glock does not pit!?!?

Massa leading
Alonso 2
Raikkonen 3
Glock 4 !?!? on dry tires still. Gambling on rain not getting worse.
Hamilton 5
Vettel 6

Lap 69, 3 laps to go! Vettel passes Hamilton. Hamilton is 6th! Massa will win the world championship for sure now!!!

Hamilton MUST PASS VETTEL!!!

Lap 71! Massa Crosses the Finish Line. He wins! Ferrari celebrating the championship!!

But WAIT!! Glock is slowing. Rain is too much for his dry tires on the last lap!

Vettell passes Glock.

Hamilton passes Glock!!!!

Hamilton is world CHAMPION!!! Ferrari camp stops celebrating really fast. heartbroken.

OMG, this must have been the most fingernail biting last 10 laps of the last race of the championship ever. WOW.

And I didn't even see it.

it was a nail bitter, since i'm a Hamilton fan . i thought he lost another championship after Vettel past him and then in the last corner Glock slows down . Wow !! i do feel for Massa , what a heart break . but that's racing .

They even had the " Ferrari 16 World Championships" Banner up

Sucks for Massa, I really thought it was his. I knew something would happen to Glock on the final corner that would allow Hamilton to win the WDC. Today's race was what F1 was all about..

Massa was almost in tears on the podium.

I saw this headline on the NY Times and I thought "wow, that was fast!", basically right, but just a little off.

"Brazilian and Briton Are Fastest to the Finish"

I was talking to my wife about THE RACE today, and she said "no, the race is Tuesday". I said, no, the BIG race.

There are some who may feel Glock slowed down deliberately

Why would he? Toyota was probably just as shocked as anyone else that Glock was in front of Hamilton. Glock would have been 4th. That would have been a really big deal for him. I can't see him slowing down so one guy or another could be champion when he could get the 4th place points and help for his career and Toyota standings in the constructor race. Toyota isn't going to win, but the corporate bosses have to see some progress to feel like they might start getting some return on investment soon. Being a backmarker is not good advertising.

I especially can't see Glock sandbagging for Hamilton given the way the paddock seems to have been feeling about him lately.

Glock got passed by both Vettel and Ham on a short straight section just before entering a turn. Given that he stuck to his regular tires, his car did not appear to be sliding around. There is no way the Torro Rosso and the Mclaren could have passed him if he had his foot to the floor. He acted like a backmarker about to be lapped and basically let the 2 cars by.

glock's last lap was faster than trulli's on the same tires and rain.
