new engine...need help

i have a 1998 328i ...after engine was replaced:) ...when i turn the key evrything works but the starter doesnt even try to turn.:mad:..motor (new one) did work before swap(so did old one (i checked with bmw and it probably just needs new programming.:confused:...(but i need to know how to start it directly from starter so i can drive it to garage..
..anyone know????:D

Key on and jump power from the positive side of the solenoid to the other.

Sounds like someone forgot to connect something...

naaah every thing is connected ...bmw told me 'most probably is caused by computer not reading right key safety code' dint know was one looks like normal key.....no danger burning anything out by jumping power directly to selenoid???

nope evrything is connected ...bmw said is most probably cumputer not detecting right key code...didnt know 98 had it looks like regular key...no danger sending power directly to selenoid???
