Yup so my Check Engine lit up on the way to work today and about 2 seconds after i noticed it (which i ahd about not even 1km done) my car shut down... my friend started laughing at me and we pushed the car to the side of the road. after trying to start it over and over again it would start and my rpms would hit 2k and go down to 750(aprox) and it would shut down after that...
any ideas? i pushed it to the nearest garage which luckly was about 1km away from my place.

You pushed your car 1km? Wow. You da man!
If fluid levels are ok, disconnect the battery and reconnect. That might clear the memory and let you drive the car a bit.
Otherwise, CAA Plus is a good investment.
Keep us posted.

well heres what i found on internet from the site:http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/E36-DME-Repair/E36-DME-Repair.htm
on E36 BMWs manufactured prior to July of 1994, there is a design problem with the car that has caused a lot of problems with the main DME computer. The water relief channels of the car are not beefy enough to withstand a significant influx of water onto the car, or the windshield. While perfectly adequate for anything that nature may throw at the car, the channels are woefully inadequate for a car wash.
and well to say that since i won the car(about 2 months now) ive brought it twice to the car wash... that could be a start to the problem!

"Soufflet de cardan" is the flexible rubber part of the drivetrain
Go at RockAuto.com and you'll get picture of the drivetrain and go idea of actual prices in the US. They deliver in Canada quickly by the way.
Be aware about the Parking brake (frein à main) It rust! shall be clean and grease carefully with high temp grease otherwise it will all jam together. If it is not already the case.
