Does anyone know where I can buy a mini metal lathe in Montreal?
Thanks in advance

I found a very decent one with variable speeds, 5.5a motor and alot of features a full size lathe has.
The thing is it's $979 + tx. I can't justify spending $1100 on something I'll use to only make small pieces. I found a similar one for $750, used, but it's in Ottawa.
Anyone have any other leads?

You can try Harbor Freight, they have some small models.
May be you can have it shipped to Plattsburg.

Do not know if you have a Princess Auto in Quebec yet, but they have a mini lathe on special this month $500 (regular 700) Part# 8120974.

Nice! I'll call Ottawa tomorrow to see if they have any in stock, if they do I'll likely pick it up saturday.
Thanks!

Walkey Rd exit off the 417, turn left off the highway. Go to the 2nd set of lights and turn left. You'll go over a bridge then down a hill. Princess Auto right will on the right hand side. You can't miss it.

I didn't end up getting the one at Princess Auto.
Woke up at 7 yesterday morning and headed down with my dad. When we got there we were overwhelmed with the amount of stock this place has! Definitely kills any stored we have around Montreal.
I saw the lathe and although it looked attractive the guy that helped us out emphasized the fact that the motor is very weak and even if machining aluminum I'd have to make very light cuts. Also the fact that the chuck can't hold larger than 3" diameter stock was a turn off.
I ended up buying a couple of other things including an aluminum polishing kit for $28. I'm definitely going back there once we rebuild our shed and make a little tool center in it...
6.5hp 4 stroke engines @ <$123 & vented clutches at <$45... hmmm.
20hp V 4 stroke honda engines @ <$2000 w/ electric start...
Everything necessary to make a RWD fun machine... hmmm
I just wish I was more attentive when my dad would give me lessons in mechanics when I was younger. Now that I want to learn more I gotta fly solo.
