(Sent by BMW CCA on behalf of Dwayne Mosley, President of the Sandlapper Chapter)
Hi everyone. Iâm Dwayne Mosley, the President of the Sandlapper Chapter in SC. Iâm contacting you because the organizers of the Hilton Head Island Concours dâ Elegance & Motoring Festival have asked me to contact CCA members to encourage them to attend their event. BMW is a primary sponsor for this event, and HHIC would like to have a few unique BMWâs available for the Saturday Car Club Jamboree. They have asked for these specific types of cars: â 2000cs, 2002ti, 2002tii, Bavaria, E30-M3, 3.0cs, 635, 840/850, Z8, Alpina, Isetta, M1, M5, Z3 coupes, and a club race carâ. If you have members that own one of these cars and think they might be interested in displaying it at this year's HHCI Saturday Jamboree event, please have them contact me at sandlapperbmw@charter.net and I'll help them get in contact with the coordinator of this event. Per Truitt Rabon of HHIC, âthe Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival is a 4-day event October 30 - Nov. 2. It starts with track events at Hutchinson Island (across from downtown Savannah) and culminates in Sunday's Concours. Saturday's CCJ is when invited car clubs place their selected member cars on the field, "drivers" not Concours cars, though most of the cars that have exhibited at past CCJ's have been superb. Think about the kind of prep (wash and wax) that you would do for Eurofest. Park your car along with other CCA memberâs cars on the show field and have a good time. There are awards for "Best Club", "Peopleâs Choice", "Top 30" (voted on by the CCJ exhibitors), "Kids Award", etc. There is a $30 registration fee for CCJ exhibitors. When registered as one of the 20 BMWCCA CCJ exhibitors, you receive 2 passes for Saturday, 2 passes for Sunday, a gift bag, award potential, and invitations to register for other events (banquet, etc) that are limited to exhibitors and sponsors only. Stay for the Concours on Sunday to round out the weekend. If you have time, come for the Thursday and Friday track exhibitions, hot-laps, autocross, etc. The Concours website www.hhiconcours.com (http://app.streamsend.com/c/1275681/18/Ib3Xqef/aeB6?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hhiconcours.com) is intended for general information, for spectators to purchase tickets in advance, and for donations to our charities including Driving Young America. The website is not intended for CCJ registration. BMW CCJ registration goes through Dwayne, then Gary. â
Iâd appreciate any help you can provide with contacting your membership base. While I have email contact with all the Sandlapper members to provide information about this event, I need your help in contacting members in your chapters to inform them of this event, and to forward them to me if they have one of the requested cars and theyâre interested in attending the CCJ. Iâve included several documents that HHIC provided to me and links to more information about the event overall.
If there are any questions, please donât hesitate to contact me.
In addition to the Concours, Iâve included more information below the dashed line further describing the events that HHIC is having at the Indy Lights track in Savannah, GA. Clearly there are track and other driving opportunities available during the event. Please share this info with your membership as well.
Regards,
Dwayne Mosley

The Hilton Head Concours scheduled for the end of October and early November is planning on utilizing the Indy Lights track that was built on Hutchinson Island in Savannah for this year's track event. On Thursday & Friday (Oct 30 & 31) they are planning "track events" at the Hutchinson Island track across from downtown Savannah - gymkhana, sprints, autocross, perhaps hot laps with factory drivers in Porsche and BMWs. The Car Club Jamboree is on Saturday in Hilton Head.
Marsha Everett has spent a lot of time determining whatâs required for us to successfully navigate the Hilton Head event this year. Many thanks to her for her effort. As I mentioned, they are very interested in having unique BMWâs attend the event this year. Per Marsha, âI got my information regarding the Savannah Historics Event for Oct 30, 2008 and Oct 31, 2008 from the following three sources:
HSR website www.hsrrace.com (http://app.streamsend.com/c/1275681/20/Ib3Xqef/aeB6?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hsrrace.com)
