View Full Version : Calabogie 2008
BMW CC Ottawa has the registration for their Calabogie events up and running.
One day Performance Driving School: May 12, 2008
Two/three day Performance Driving School / Club Race: July 18, 19, 20, 2008
For more information and links to the registration forms go here:

I'll be there.
I suggest to people who never drove that track to try it at least once. That's a rollercoaster of a track that could well be our Canadian Nurburgring. You might spend a whole weekend just learning the sequence of corners (23 of them).
Those who already drove it know how fun it is.

Lee, that means you won't be at SpringFling? :-(
I'm considering Calabogie in May. Might be my only chance this summer. Do you guys think 300$ is expensive for one day at Calabogie? Do you think I should wait and go there in August, running the risk of going to a standard lapping day with no instruction, but having two days to learn the track?
Indeed, I will do the MCO raceschool on May 3rd and 4th. You can attend the Calabogie event hosted by Audi in June, or the one hosted by Ottawa in July.

Nope, I can't, I won't be here in June or July in all likelihood. So it's either May or August for me. Therefore, one day in May with a group I can trust to teach me properly, or two days in August with a generic lapping day organization.

Hi Mike
It is MCO's Race School. I doubt now that any BMWCC Race School will happen as FSAQ was way too slow at setting up guidelines. As far as I know, it might be the only race school of the season. There might be some room left at MCO's school.

One other way to obtain a Club Racing license is to participate to your own BMW Club events and then ask your chief-instructor to recommend you for a Club Racing license. He will judge your overall driving abilities in many environments and conditions as well as your overall attitude. If you don't participate to the events held by your own local chapter, you can't be recommended. Also remember the word "Club" in BMW Club Racing. Support your local club. See how you can help it and how you can contribute. Local Club Racers should support their local BMW Club.

The MCO Race school at Calabogie is full with a waiting list already 8 or 10 long.

I've heard they are willing to accept more students depending on how many extra instructors they can get. So, who's willing to kick off the season instructing for MCO at Calabogie? :D

at least for bmwcca, the school is now required. no way around it. This is new. SCCA got a lot tighter for 2008 as well.
I don't think the mid-ohio school is oversubscribed. Of course it is pretty late. If you want to try: email harvbmw -at- aol -dot- com
class is friday-sunday. Lots of track time. Not very many cars. At least one mini. (actually, I think it's exactly one mini.)

FSAQ will hold a racing school in May. Recommanded graduates will be able to obtain a regional road racing licence from FSAQ or a national/international licence from ASN CANADA FIA if you race in a national or international series.
Cheers.

Salut Hugo.

Just chatted with Richard Strutter from Ontario, he is also coming. A lot of track time is expected, so don't be shy to register. I am sure they won't say NO. The more drivers, the more fun...:D

Ha thanks lee! I sent another email but the email on their website was wrong! Do you have a contact number for them? There's at least 2 and possibly a third person who wants to come -- remember you said those RA1s were just getting good end of last year!
Hi
I just contacted Chris Pawlovicz and he told me he replied with all the info to register thru Karelo.
Please contact Chris right away.
