All Shark Injectors are on special for CAN$399 for a limited time.

Available for almost all E36 (OBD2) and E46.

The Shark Injector uploads new software in a completely reversible way.
It will increase horsepower and torque, improve throttle response, raise the rev-limiter and remove the top-speed limiter.

Takes minutes to install.

1- Any impact at all on reliability? If not, what's the catch? Why wasn't the engined programmed that way to begin with? Pollution?

2- Do you need a modified intake and exhaust to take advantage of this?

3- Does it bring a real improvement on an E36 M3? If so, do you need intake and exhaust mods?

No real impact on reliability. The software was developed by well-known tuner Jim Conforti. The factory software keeps a huge safety margin to protect the car from abuse and neglect at the hand of not-so-careful owners. The Shark Injector extracts more power/torque by reducing the safety margin a bit.

As long as you use good gas (91+ octane) and don't redline it when cold, you will be OK :)

2- Do you need a modified intake and exhaust to take advantage of this?

A good modified intake and free-flow exhaust is always beneficial as it improves the flow to and from the engine. However, the Shark Injector will still "work" on a stock engine. The DME will adapt to your actual conditions, whether the software is stock or upgraded.

3- Does it bring a real improvement on an E36 M3? If so, do you need intake and exhaust mods?

I don't have first hand experience with the E36 M3. I know the M52 cars (323, 328, M3 E36) react better to the Shark Injector than the M54 cars (E46 325, 330). Nadim installed it on his car (E46 323ci) and the effect was pretty impressive especially in terms of throttle response.

Don't expect an "electronic turbo" though. You'll be disappointed :p

I hope this answers your questions :)

Last question: what about if I install a Shark injector before doing anything to the intake/exhaust, and THEN I make changes to intake/exhaust. Will the Shark injector "adapt" itself to the modifications down the road?

The Shark injector is like a chip, although you don't physically change the chip in the DME you simply reprogram it using the injector. The DME uses sensors to calculate the amount of air coming in the engine and acts accordingly, it is not set in stone. So if you change something in the intake or exhaust, the sensors will see the change and act accordingly wether you have the shark injector or not. What the injector will do is make the engine more aggressive by playing with the fuel maps and electronic timing.

Couldn't have said it better :)
