View Full Version : Italian-German Challenge at LCMT
I received a call today from LCMT management informing me of the opportunity to participate in a vintage rules event for German and Italian
race cars during both the Spring Classic and Fall Classic.
Cars and drivers from sanctioned series (e.g., PCA CR, BMW CR) are eligible. In addition, other recommended entrants will be permitted at the discretion of track management.
Stay tuned and get ready.

It's called the Calabogie effect.

J'aime la réplique!! :D
Don't take me wrong. I love driving LCMT. It is only surprising how well caring they are becoming. When organizing events at Calabogie, the first thing one hears from the track's staff is "How can we help you?"
That new home grown racing formula is great too. Let's see for more info.

Will it really be safe on the track with F-cars? In the ferrari challenge they play bumper cars. Maybe the rules will be different for this series.

I wouldn't worry about the track owner racing his F-car in that group. He has a lot of experience and even may have won last year's race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. I'd be more worried about rich heirs who bought their way in. I have seen many of such people. F-world is a different world. Great people though. Maybe not properly skilled.

Mr. Stroll didn't win the race at CGV, but he should have. He was clearly the class of the track, but racing with the other ferrari owners who are racing on chest hair, not skill, involves a lot of luck. He was t-boned once and unfairly forced off the track at least once. He was turning fastest laps and picking up places rapidly when people weren't removing carbon fiber from his car, but it wasn't enough. Those other ferrari drivers are not people I'd want to share a track, road, or sidewalk with.
I guess if it is vintage rules, they might be OK. The real maniacs won't even want to come.
I was talking to a spec miata racer who told me that spec miata is fine as long as you stay back around 12th place. The front isn't a good place to be if you like your car. He'd try to keep track of his position and not move up too far... Maybe this would be the key. Just stay in back of the ferraris where you can see them.

Those are encouraging words. :D
