There is a SoloSprint event this week-end organized by the MCO at Calabogie. School on Saturday and time trials on Sunday. Should be awesome.
We will be only 3 participants from "La Belle Province." I am in with my race car (E36 BMW M3 2.8L. in the SGT2 Class). I will tell you what are the lap times to beat after the week-end. Seb Rochon's 2:09 lap time is my unofficial target (yeah right! ).

Well, here are the 10 fastest competitors of the event:
FASTEST 10 COMPETITORS FOR EVENT 5
1. Jeff Graves 95 BMW M3, SGT2, 138.925 sec.
2 Arek Wojciechowski 95 BMW M3 SGT2 139.839 sec.
3. Jeff Treleaven 04 Subaru WRX PREP 140.491 sec.
4 Paul McFadden 03 Subaru WRX SGT3 141.148 sec.
5 Avi Koifman 05 Subaru Impreza WRX STi SGT3 141.519 sec.
6 Jean-Guillaume Shooner 97 BMW E36 2.8L. SGT2 141.872 sec.
7 Rob McAuley 99 BMW M3 SGT1 142.262 sec.
8 Chris Atkins 06 Ford Mustang GT SGT3 143.474
9 James Mewett 89 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II SGT3 144.243 sec.
10 Andy Presswood 88 Ford Mustang GT2 144.848 sec.
4 BMW's in the top ten. I ended up in sixth position out of 60 competitors in my "Touring car" with a 2:21 with "ok" tires (225-45-17 Hankook Z214). Best time was high 2:18 on Hoosiers. Next time, I'll bring my BF Goodrich R1 245-40-17 tires to compete with the big guns.
Seb Rochon admitted that his 2:09 was probably due to a timing error. Anyway, I can tell you that everything in the 2:20 range is quite fast at Calabogie.
I am leaving tomorrow afternoon to practice, but on street rubber. I am going to "monitor" if I am a consistent driver...

Well, the first time I went there, I put street tires on my car in order to feel the car better. However, the "noise" of the squealing tires was just aweful. That being said, driving the track with R compound tires is quite an experience.
Well, I have a set of 235.40.17 Toyo RA-1 s but one is slightly corded on the front outer corner from last time at Calabogie. I have a spare but no time to mount it. Perhaps I should bring the wheels and see if there is tire service at the track.
