The parking is good. Limited spaces on Fleury directly in front of the restaurant, but plenty of spaces on the side street(s)

We are thinking changing the location for the monthly meeting. There is a nice Vietnamese restaurant on Parc Avenue, near Mt Royal. The great thing is that even though parking is prohibited up to 18h30 to make it a bus lane, it becomes a parking lane after 18h30. So, plenty of room for us.

Food is authentic Vietnamese dishes, a full meal is bellow $10 and conveniently located in the heart of Montreal. Lots of visibility for the club.

I just confirmed that parking is indeed available at 6:30pm, (but in line with the current policy of GREED and TAKE by the Tremblay admin), we would have to feed the meter from 6:30 - 9pm. It's not that bad, at least the parking is readily available and within sight of the restaurant. There is a terasse also. All menu prices incude both taxes. The place is very clean and the food really is good.

Please note our next monthly meeting will held at the (Vietnamese) Restaurant Pho Lam on Tuesday June 5, 2007, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. This is a new restaurant. It is fully licensed. The place is very clean, the service courteous, the prices very reasonable and the food is very good. If the weather is good, we would have the terrasse to ourselves.

For next meeting, do you guys think we can try something new? La Piccola was nice, but the menue is kinda small and not necessarely the best value. Is there any other German/Bavarian restaurant other than Berlin (which we won't go back ever)?

Any suggestion? Let's remember that parking is a key element in selecting a meeting place.

The location does not have to be in the city core. Even La Picolla is not exactly in town. As long as it is relatively centrally located and be able to meet our basic requirements:

- central location
- adequate parking facilities
- good quality food at a reasonable price
- preferably licensed for beer and wine (or if not), must allow BYO.
- comfortable and flexible seating arrangements

It is good to alternate different locations periodically. It provides an enlightening experience to the members.

Hiring a catering service would be too expensive and a catering company
would probably want some minimum guarantee. Simpler to just go to a nearby restaurant afterwards.

De 35 à 90,000 pieds-carrés en 7 ans. 41 postes de mécaniciens, plus tous les services parallèles. Une impressionnante croissance due, probablement, à un excellent service, et à une attention particulière à la satisfaction des clients. Merci aussi aux 24 participants de cette visite, qui je le sens, ont été pour la plupart impressionnés par cette concession BMW.

Babare ain't a bad place, but it is too crowded and way, way too noisy. You one cannot even carry on a normal conversation (without having to yell) with the person sitting next to you. It may be OK for an informal gathering for a bit of inexpensive grub and brew (or even some girl-watching), but not a conducive environment for a club meeting.

For our meeting in May, the snow will have melted (hopefully:rolleyes: ) by then. Most of us should have our summer cars back on the road. We should therefore look for another restaurant that will have proper parking facilities. A place with a large lot and a terrace might be a good fit. Of course decent food and drinks at a reasonable price helps. Any suggestions? Sport bar? But there may be an NHL playoff game going on that evening.

The "Old Zanetti" is no longer there. It has been replaced by another restaurant, a more upscale place, but I hear the previous owner still has an interest in the present establishment.

Yes, it was a friendly place, but they also jerked us around when they were closing shop. Us being regular customers, they should have had the decency to advise us that they were closing.

What we should be looking for is a place with parking lot facilities. At Piccola, parking is readily available, but only at curbside and generally very few spaces are available immediately outside the restaurant.

In any case, we have already been there many times before. It's good practice to try out different places.

The parking lot is huge and most stuff stays open until 9. I know Chapters stays open until 10.

These places have big lots but I don't suggest Bar B Barn, it's pretty dark inside, the food is terrible and over priced. Out of that list I'd say Jack's is the best place to have a meet!

Folks,

I called the restaurant earlier this evening to confirm. I requested the terrasse, but they do not accept reservations for groups on the terrasse due to what the manager describes as a "high flow of people" :mad:. However, when we get there, if there is space on the terrasse at the time, they would be able to accomodate our group. I would suggest therefore that whoever gets there first tomorrow should eyeball the terrasse right away and if there is space, should ask for our table moved from the inside to the outside.

If you order the complete works (a cuppa of suds, appetizer, main course, and dessert and the cappucino), the bill will be over $20 no matter where you go. Even at Barbare, my last bill was almost $40 and this is supposed to be an inexpensive place.

Well you have Annie's in St-Annes as I mentioned before. Cyldes in Pointe Claire village isn't bad either. Back in the day we had Montreal Racing meets at Le Manoir on St-Jeans and Hymus. Everyone seemed to like that place because it had good parking and food/beer is cheap (Mr. Lee Magoo will be happy about that). Mcgibbons would be a good choice as well. There is even Babaloos on Sources or the location in Hudson.

On a tuesday night parking isn't a problem at any of these places.


Everyone other place I think of is way to expensive and over rated.

That may not be a bad idea. Relatively centrally located, close to the highway, parking is easy and I know prices are reasonable there, plus hockey season is over. Would we need to call and reserve?
