HI All !

I just bought a '97 328is in the States but now need to have daylights in order to pass inspection. Is there a cheap and easy trick? Also i'm looking for a good and trust worthy repair shop in or around Montreal. I also have a weird intermitent problem some time a message shows up on my console saying Brake Light Failliure or Brake Light Circuit Failliure but everything seems to work fine.

A new and pround BMW owner,

I think you need a DRL relay to put in...

easy.
to pass the inspection, you will need to have the headlight on.
One easy solution is to bridge in the selector switch, to make your "low beam" on all the time. You can do it with only a piece of wire.
then after the inspection just remove it.
the relay with DRL will cost you around 100 after tax. Not worth it.

A new and pround BMW owner,

Check your rear bulbs one by one, make sure that the connections are free of oxidation. More importantly, make sure the existing bulbs are of good OEM quality, and not of the Canadian Tire junk variety. Some of the cheaper bulbs may have resistance inconsistencies which may cause the brake light failure to light up.

But if you really do want daylight running lights or any other car mods, and I mean ANYTHING from sound syses to bypassing your catalyc converter... go to:
Precision Acoustics
2880, rue de Miniac,
Saint-Laurent, QC H4S 1K9

For the trunk lights, if the light bulbs and sockets are fine it might be the wiring loom going from the trunck to the car. Open-close-open-close causes some wire to break and give intermitant contact....don't ask me why I know :D
