thread says it all
1. how many L can you put in a 1.8 vs the 2.5 engine
2. how many kliks can you do with the 1.8 vs the 2.5 (ac on and ac off)
3. how much you paid to fill up the tank
Aren't the fuel tanks similar between a 1.8 and 2.5 liter? I suppose you are talking about the e30 318 M42 motor vs the 325's M20. Because if it were about the e36, then it is not a 1.8 but a 1.9 litre M44.

I have the M42, If I do alot of highway then I can get a 500 kms and if I don't around 450 kms. (Approximetaly and off the top of my head) I pay around 40-45$ to fill it up so I guess theres around 10L remaining.

I've owned a 318 is 1991 (M42) for a few weeks now.
The gas tank has a small leak at the top so I never fill it up completely.
In my now defunct 525i '89, I would fairly reliably use 10 L of motion potion per 100km if I drove my usual mix of highway and city (I live in the west island near St-Jean, so I almost always hit HWY40 no matter where I go) and as low as 8L/100km on Mtl-Toronto transits (under cruise control @ 116km/h)
I haven't used the 318 enough for having reliable figures but my hunch is that I'll probably burn 20-30% less.
Again, comparing the E34 with the E30 is kinda tricky, since the E34 was much heavier.
Another thing: my electronic odometer on the E34 had been stuck at 300040 for at least five years (previous to that, it increased at a rate approximately 3.6 times the real mileage). I obtained my statistics both from the trip odometer and on long distances, from my handheld GPS (Garmin GPSmap 76). My speedometer was also screwed-up, indicating about 8-9 km/h more in the vincinity of indicated 120km/h. It did not seems proportionally screwed up in the vincinity of indicated 60km/h nor near 130-135 km/h; it looks like there was some dead spot on it.
Strangely, the speed limit alarm on the OBC module always matched the GPS-reported speed.
So I call my mileage figures "creative data mining and processing" :)
well i never really drove my 325i lightly
i would normally get 350 km to the tank
it would cost me about 45 with 92-94 octane
not too sure how many L i put in the tank
but i have made it from laval to downtown toronto on one tank of gaz
