In production before december of this year, the new lotus promises to become the queen of "track days". Based on the Elise chassis, the Hethel newborn will be called "Circuit Car" and with a weight of around 600kg, follows the late concept so dear to lotus of "little weight, lot of fun".
It is such an hardcore version of the elise that the passenger seat will be an option. There is choice between 2 engines, both 1.8L from the VVT-i toyota family, but with very different charcteristics... One naturally aspirated (0-100 in 4s and 0-160 in less than 11), the other one turbo(in this case 0-100 comes in 3.5s, while 160 is reached in less than 9s). These are the only official numbers released by Lotus.
To test it(europe) you will need to wait for 2006, when it will be commercialized at the rythm of 100 per year...
