BMW Group Canada achieves all-time record sales in 2004. Best December ever led by strong SAV sales.

Whitby, Ontario...BMW Group Canada today announced its 14th consecutive year of increasing sales in Canada. BMW Group recorded combined BMW and MINI automobile sales of 19,398 units in 2004, representing an 8.6% increase over 2003 sales. During the month of December, 1,805 BMW and MINI vehicles were sold, an increase of 1.8% over December 2003, making last month the best December results in BMW Group Canada sales history.

BMW Brand: Sales of BMW brand automobiles up 9.5% in 2004.
The BMW brand recorded 16,598 units sold in 2004, an increase of 9.5% over 2003. The BMW 5 Series, voted "Best New Luxury Car" for 2004 by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), had a very strong year resulting in 2,002 units retailed in 2004. This represents an increase of 14.8% over 2003 sales. 2004 BMW Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) sales totaled 5,260, an increase of 56.9% or 1,908 units over 2003 SAV sales.
In the month of December, 1,645 BMWs were sold, an increase of 7.7% over December 2003 sales. The BMW X5 SAV saw 315 units retailed, representing a 28.6% increase over December 2003 sales. The BMW X3 SAV, named "Best New Sport Utility Vehicle" for 2005 by AJAC had its strongest monthly sales performance ever in December with 522 units retailed.
BMW Motorrad Canada also finished the year with record-breaking December sales. 186 BMW Motorcycles were retailed, an increase of 104.4% over December 2003 sales. In 2004, 1,136 BMW motorcycles were retailed in the Canadian market, the third successive year of over 1,000 retails for BMW Motorrad Canada.
MINI Brand: 2004 sales up 3.4% over 2003.
2004 saw 2,800 MINIs sold in Canada, an increase of 3.4% over 2003. The record sales for the MINI brand continues the upward trend of the brand in Canada since its launch into the Canadian market in 2002.
In the month of December, 160 new owners took delivery of their MINIs, representing a difference of 34.7% compared to December 2003 sales of 245 MINIs.
